Project Overview
This project aims to empower youth in the Western Balkans by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to advocate for human rights. Through training, mentorship, and community action, the initiative seeks to inspire young leaders to recognize and address human rights violations while fostering a culture of activism and change at the grassroots level.

Activities & Approach
- Training Camps:
Two 3-day non-formal education sessions focusing on human rights and essential soft skills, guided by the Compass manual. - Youth-Led Actions:
After the training, participants will identify local human rights challenges and design at least six community-based initiatives. - Mentorship:
Participants will receive ongoing online support from field professionals to ensure their actions are impactful and sustainable. - Community Involvement:
Localized activities will engage additional youth and community members, fostering broader awareness and collaboration.
Goal
To create a generation of young leaders equipped with the tools to recognize human rights violations and take meaningful action to address them. The project strives to foster a culture of empowerment, advocacy, and active citizenship in the Western Balkans, making human rights education and activism accessible and impactful.
Expected Outcomes
- Empowered Youth Leaders:
Train 15–20 young people with the skills to recognize human rights violations and lead advocacy efforts in their communities. - Youth-Led Initiatives:
Facilitate at least six youth-led actions addressing specific human rights issues. Each initiative will engage a minimum of 10 participants and address localized challenges, ensuring relevance and impact. - Community Engagement:
Directly involve over 80 youth in workshops and activities, fostering collaboration, dialogue, and understanding. Indirect engagement through social media and local partnerships is expected to reach over 3,000 individuals. - Skill Building:
Participants will develop critical skills in leadership, communication, and organizing community actions, making them effective advocates for sustainable change. - Local Impact:
The initiatives will address tangible challenges within communities, bridging the gap between abstract human rights principles and lived realities, fostering lasting positive change. - Visibility and Awareness:
The project will generate significant social media and local media coverage, promoting human rights education and activism throughout the Western Balkans. Testimonials and youth-driven content will amplify the message, encouraging broader participation and inspiration.
This project aligns with the principles of democracy, equality, and human dignity, empowering youth to take charge of their futures and contribute to a more just and equitable society.
