Youth for Green Montenegro - Reforesting Action in Danilovgrad, November 2016.

Forum MNE, in close liaison withthe municipality of Danilovgrad implemented the autumn reforesting action in Danilovgrad. It was organized on 22nd of November 2016, at 11am.

On that occasion, Forum MNE, together with all donors who supported the action, planted 80 seedlings (majority on the main location near the stadium and part in front of the elementary school Vuko Jovović). The Action was greeted by: Branislav Đuranović(President of municipality of Danilovgrad) and Elvira Hadžibegović Bubanja (Director of Forum MNE).

Donations were given mainly by businesses, firms and institutions whose one of the aim is promotion of social corporate responsibility. The following donors supported the Action: Crnogorska komercijalna banka ad Podgorica, Erste banka ad Podgorica, Fakultet za crnogorski jezik i književnost, Metropolis media, Elektroprivreda Crne Gore, Šišković doo Danilovgrad, Ing-Invest doo Danilovgrad, Jugopetrol ad, Mljekara Lazine, Prva banka Crne Gore, Dormeo, Ministarstvo održivog razvoja i turizma, Uniprom pekara, MFI Alter modus, Coca-Cola HBC Crna Gora i Rasadnik Lakić.

The Action was attended by almost all donors who provided donations for seedling and they had an opportunity to see the Donors’ Board and the name of their institution graved.

Forum MNE emphasizes the exceptional support of the following banks: Crnogorska komercijalna banka i Erste banka.

Like it was the case during the previous reforesting actions, this Action was attended with more than 100 citizens, majority of which were young people with various backgrounds – coming from local elementary schools, high school, local NGOs, etc. They all had an opportunity, at the beginning of the reforesting action, to hear and see the presentation on how to plant a seedling properly, so that they can continue planting the other seedlings. Of course, the whole process was supervised by professional municipal staff that was very patient in providing support and advice.

On the same day, a mural was drawn on the building near the location. The purpose of the mural was to cover the hate speech written on the wall of the building, while, at the same time, promote the whole green idea of the project.

The reforesting action has been realized for the ninth time in Montenegro, within the framework of the project Youth for Green Montenegro, supported by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. The partners are Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism and Centre for Vocational Education.
